Description
Allback Linseed Oil Paints are made from natural 100% pure linseed oil derived from renewable and sustainable resources. Allbacks Linseed Oil Paint is made in the traditional way from cold pressed boiled linseed oil and colour pigments without the use of lead oxide. People often think that oil paints smell strongly of and contain solvents. Traditional linseed oil paint like Allbacks’s however contain no solvents and no alkyd binding medium and only smell of linseed oil. Volatile Organic Compounds are virtually non-existant.Allbacks linseed paints last up to 3 times longer than modern paints. Not only will the subtle paint colours decorate your external joinery beautifully but also the linseed oil in the paint can be used on interiors and furniture internal doors metal windows and even floorboards with the same long-lasting results.
When applying the first coat of Allbacks Linseed Paint on external surfaces it is important to ensure that you add Zinc Oxide This should not exceed 20% (parts per volume) of the first coat of paint. The purpose of the Zinc Oxide is to create a barrier against possible mould growth. Please ensure the paint is mixed thoroughly to avoid drying problems its application should be worked onto the timber very thinly and thoroughly. It is only necessary to add this to the first initial coat of paint however it can also be added to any subsequent coats and will not greatly affect the colour of the paint if mixed correctly
For existing painted surfaces where mould growth has become apparent clean the surface with Linseed Soap and apply one more coat of the original paint including Zinc Oxide.
