Fine Stuff (2:1)
- Related Products
A traditional fine plaster mix using a 2:1 blend of silver sand mixed with slaked Buxton Lime for a smooth cream finish. Suitable for repairs to historic buildings as a final top coat. Can also be used on new build, such as gypsum plasterboards, provided a consolidating bonding agent such as DG27 has first been applied.
All our pre-mixed lime putty mixes are made right here at Old House Store in Berkshire and are used extensively throughout the UK by conservation companies, as well as charitable organisations such as The National Trust and The English Heritage. A recent major restoration project for Historic Scotland, used Old House Store's mortars and plasters at STIRLING CASTLE, Scotland.
Non hydraulic plasters and mortars require exposure to carbon dioxide in the presence of moisture to harden, it is critical to ensure that these materials are used at the appropriate time of year and to protect them from drying too rapidly. Application guides are printed on all bags and are available to down load from the technical page.
