American Clay Plaster

Award winning AMERICAN CLAY and market leader in coloured clay plasters, founded in Santa Fe New Mexico over 10years ago has developed into a proven and tested system for professional plasters, presently being used in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe.  We currently offer one of the largest colour pallets for any clay plaster on the market, 41 natural earth borne pigments which can be further blended to produce endless colours and mixed with our binder UP & EZ will last for up to 30 days or more pre-mixed giving durability and adhesion to most applciations.

Mixing Instructions:-    Obtain a large 20ltr container and pour in cold water, about 6ltrs.  Then take the chosen colour pack and slowly add the pigment to the mix, making sure you mix thoroughly.  Now add 50% of the Clay, the full amount of binder, and finally the rest of the Clay.  Mix the clay and add more water if necessary to adjust the plaster to the consistency you want, as a general rule the approximate consistency should be like soft butter.

LOMA  this was the original clay plaster and most versatile being used as both base and top coat producing a variety of different looks and finishes. Mainly used as the base coat. Loma can also be used as the second coat to create a finely honed polish on any wall surface. Surfaces with texture will require a thicker base coat.  Never more than 1mm, recommended application thickness of two coats with each coat of 1mm.  Loma resembles a limestone like finish for hard-edged spaces yearning for a gentle touch.  Uncommonly versatile, Loma can create a surprising range of textures-from finely honed walls with sophisticated depth and polish, to whisper-subtle matte finishes, to rustic organic surface with true tactile appeal.

Coverage: 25kg bag will cover 16 - 18 sq mtrs per coat 

ENJARRE  which is a one coat system for industrial uses because of its higher build and cost effective application it's a real winner, it also can be used as a base coat for the other top coats. Enjarre is designed to be applied in a single coat, saving time and money while achieving a distinct, natural, beautiful and ceiling coating.  Highly textured Enjarre is designed to be placed in settings where our two coat product is cost-prohibitive; Large commercial, multi-unit housing, production building, and high-traffic government buildings.  It also allows homeowners to start with one coat, and add a second coat of our premier plasters as time and money allows.  Enjarre needs to be applied more thickly than our other plasters, between 1 - 3mm thick.  Single coat plaster - over level 11 or 111 drywall - no skim needed - hand troweled or sprayable application.  COLOUR:  To closely match standard Loma colours, a ratio of 1.25 colour pigment packs to one 36kg bag of Enjjare is used.  Standard colour pigment packs may be used if measured properly, however, measurements can be difficult.

Coverage: 36kg bag will cover 13 - 16sq mtrs per 1 -3mm thick.

MARITTIMO  this is one of the harder finishes because of all the crushed sea shells used as the aggregate in its make-up and when it's finished it reveals its mother of pearl sparkle. It is the strongest of our plasters, Marittimo draws its beauty from the Mediterranean villages of Morocco, as the crushed sea shell aggregate witjhin gives the plaster its strength.  Loma is always used as the base coat. Surfaces with texture will require a thicker base coat. Marittimo is applied as the second cota at 1mm over the basecoat, for a combined thickness of up to 2mm. Our most durable plaster, Marittimo draws its inspiration from Mediterranean and Caribbean finishes. Seashell aggregate gives it a magnificent, subtle speckle that adds depth to any interior environment.  Made of a variety of clays, crushed seashells and natural mineral pigments, Marittimo is easy to apply, feels polished, and is wonderful to the touch.

Coverage:  25kg bag will cover 14 - 16 sq mtrs per coat

PORCELINA   this is our finest and smoothest products very close to a venetian plaster silky smooth and soft to the touch. Our smoothest plaster, Porcelina provides the user with an opportunity to create traditional Old Worlde marble smooth surfaces. Loma or Enjjare are used as the base coat.  Surfaces with texture will require a thicker base coat. Porcelina is applied as a second coat at approximately 1mm over the basecoat, for a combined thickness of up to 2mm.  Marble-smooth as the architectural wonders created by artisans for centuries, Porcelina lends a silky, polished sheen to once-bland wall surfaces.  It's decidedly epic, whether applied with a sleek finish, troweled and burnished for greater depth, or even layered with colour and waxed to suggest the look and feel of venetian plaster.
